The Problem
AIDS is the leading cause of death in sub-Saharan Africa. In some countries, more than 25% of the population are infected, making Africa home to more than 70% of the world's HIV infected adults.
Everyday, 6700 African families bury a loved one who have succumbed to the disease.
Everyday 6000 children in Africa are orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS.
Every 15 seconds, AIDS kills a child's parent.
95% of the worlds' AIDS orphans live in Africa. Less than 10% of these orphans receive any support.
Children who have lost their parents to AIDS are society's most vulnerable members. They are socially isolated, less likely to be immunized, more likely to be malnourished, illiterate and vulnerable to abuse and exploitation.
Children become heads of households, caring for sick and dying parents as well as younger siblings.
But did you know that many of these children are ambitious? They have dreams and aspirations to do well.
Help us to help them.

Samaritan's Feet and A Place of Hopes
Invites you to join us for our Cameroon,West Africa Shoe of Hope Relief Mission November 5-20, 2009
LOCATION: Cameroon, West Africa WHEN: November 5-20, 2009
Team Size: Team size will be 12 maximum. You must be 16 years of age or older to travel alone.
MINISTRY DESCRIPTION How many times have you packed a shoebox and sent it to a child who you may never meet, wondering what it must feel like to be there in person sharing the Gospel message directly with that child, while modeling compassion as Christ did in a tangible way? Well, now you can! Be a short-term missions ambassador, serving as a Shoe of Hope relief ambassador with a team that will help distribute 5,000 brand new pairs of shoes to children in need in village communities in the vicinity of Ngoketungia Division, Cameroon. This trip is designed for those who have compassion and a strong desire for children in Africa. We will work in partnership with A Place of Hopes, a ministry in Cameroon that focuses on children who have lost one or two parents to AIDS. We’ll visit orphanages, schools, and church communities in four villages to share the hope of Christ and demonstrate His love as we wash and anoint the feet of impoverished children, and equip their feet with a new pair of socks and shoes. We will travel from village to village doing Gospel presentations, providing medical care, and conducting sports clinics for kids, all in partnership with A Place of Hopes, local pastors, and our humanitarian missions partners. Registration is due August 31st, 2009. Sign up today!!
